Client TestimonialsDear DeBond, I just had an opportunity to use your product, Marine Formula™. I have a 35 year-old boat and I needed to replace the rear lower splash rails. I looked at that old caulk and thought,"This is going to take forever." I sprayed on Marine Formula™, waited as directed, and the rails came off easier than I expected! Next, was the remaining caulk that was left behind, same results "WOW!" What a great product! Thanks again! Joe U., Clawson, MI
Dear DeBond, Today I had to remove a transducer mounted with 3M™ 5200. For 3 hours I huffed and puffed, and then someone said I should go get some Marine Formula™. I bought a 2 oz. can, sprayed it on, and then a second coat and waited 10 minutes. Viola it came right out! T.W. Riviera Beach, FL
Email from a Commercial Boat Captain Just to let you know everything you said about Marine Formula™ was true. After 40 years as a captain, I was sure that God intended that 3M™ 5200 be included as final along with death and taxes. But a few drops of Marine Formula™ and off it comes. Maybe there’s some hope for death & taxes. Work on that one! Captain Bill C, M/Y St
Letter to West Marine from O.C., Miami, FL: To: West Marine Customer Service Dear Sirs, My husband and I recently had a project on our boat that required us to remove a large amount of 3M™ 5200. To do this, I purchased a 1.5 oz bottle of "AntiBond 2015®" from the local West Marine Store. The label says that the AntiBond 2015® will debond and remove 3M™ 5200. We used the AntiBond 2015® in accordance with the label instructions. Our results were unsatisfactory. After ninety minutes, the AntiBond 2015® had succeeded in making the 3M™ 5200 tacky, but it did not loosen the grip nor did it remove the 3M™ 5200 as advertised. We were just about to give up when a gentleman from a neighboring boat came over with a different product called "Marine Formula™." This man sprayed the Marine Formula™ on the 3M™ 5200 and we had great results. In the areas where we had already sprayed the AntiBond 2015®, the 3M™ 5200 lost its grip and came right off in less than a minute. In the areas where we had not sprayed the AntiBond 2015®, the Marine Formula™ took about 3 minutes to work, but then the 3M™ 5200 came right off again. This is the product that we will be using from now on and we will be recommending it to our friends. On my next visit to the local West Marine Store, I looked for Marine Formula™ on the shelves, but I was unable to find any. Do you carry this product? If so, I would like to purchase some. If not, can you tell me where it is available? I've returned the unused AntiBond 2015® back to your store. Thank you in advance for any information you can provide on this wonderful product, Marine Formula™! Sincerely, O. C., Miami, FL
Note: This is our first customer!"PERFECT AS DESCRIBED AAA - This stuff really works" D.G., Chicago, IL
A Letter from a satisfied customer Dear DeBond, I am glad you all are making Marine Formula™. I regret they did not have this some 50 years ago. Just an awesome simple way to get anything that's sticks, off. A friend of mine owns a sign shop, had to take an old decal off a boat and his expensive stuff just did not cut the mustard. I returned with my spray can of Marine Formula™ and whammo off in a second- felt like I was doing a commercial. Keep up the good work. AS - DeBary, FL
Letter from Customer J.E. Dear DeBond, I wanted to take a moment and compliment you on a wonderful product. As most of us know in the boating world, the old maxim was: only use 5200 if you never want to remove it again. Well, now you have allowed the use of 5200 without this fear that we will NEVER be able to remove it. This is quite key, as 5200 has many sought after qualities, but often not used due to its permanence. Now it can be used with impunity; 3M ought to pay you royalties, because your product removes/softens it on contact!! A Friend mentioned “Anti-bond” to me, so when I was at Jamestown Distributors in Bristol, RI, I inquired if they stocked it, to which the counter fellow replied that they didn’t, nor had he even heard of the concept. However, luckily for me, a guy out back heard our conversation and gave me one of your spray bottles of Marine Formula™ to test out, stating that you had sent it in as a test/trial, that I could have it for free, provided that I report back in on its effectiveness. Well, for an amateur, but nonetheless obsessed boater, I was thrilled to be a “tester” for “Jamestown Distributors” one of the big players for maritime products in the northeast. My project was removing two teak treads from fiberglass steps. Mind you, prior to the application of Marine Formula™ I had spent about ½ an hour working with three putty knives and had made very little progress, as it seems to re-seal as soon as you pull the putty knife out. I need to mention that my next stop was West Marine who did stock “Anti-bond”, so I bought a bottle, so I could fairly compare the two products. Anti-bond is most annoying as it has this parsimonious pump as opposed to your aerosol, so you often can’t get a prime when you are trying to pump the silly thing at some weird angle that only a boat can require! To be fair, I can’t truly compare how effective the anti-bond was, because of the annoying priming pump, the Marine Formula™ was so much faster and easier to use, that I abandoned my test. I got the two teak treads off in less than ½ an hour. Sorry I am going on so long, but I have been messing about with boats for 16 yrs now and have dealt with the real difficulties of removing things which have been caulked in/on …your product is awesome―it works so quickly and easily. Nothing like the right tool for the right job. To beat the band, the price is right. It’s rare to find a product which works so well. Now I lied, cuz I have to go a bit longer. I have removed all of the windows in our Cape Dory 28 Power boat, as we are going to install new ones. I have been cleaning up the residue of all the old adhesive with 3M Adhesive remover and “Oops”. The problem is, if you don’t remove all the old adhesive, when you sand in preparation of re-painting the cabin top, you will be re-distributing the adhesive all over the place and the new paint is not going to stick. But anyone who has done this knows that you have to clean, clean and re-clean; it looks clean, but if you rub your fingers over the area, you rub off little “grubbies” which goes on forever. I have found that with Marine Formula™, two applications cleans it all off, no more little “grubbies” This has been much more than a “moment” but I am so pleased with your product. Sincerely, J. E. Amherst, MA
An E-Mail from M.D. An acquaintance offered to let me try a sample of Marine Formula™ because I was having a hard time removing a stand pipe. The stand pipe was sealed with 3M™ 5200. I applied the Marine Formula™ to the 3M™ 5200 and let it sit for a few minutes. The Marine Formula™ worked great!! What would have been a lengthy project turned into a 2 hour job. I would recommend Marine Formula™ to anyone who wants to make their job easier. |
