Industrial strength polyurethane de-bonder and multi-purpose cleaner specially formulated for use in the Marine Industry.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

CAREFULLY READ AND FOLLOW ALL WARNINGS AND INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE. ALWAYS TEST ON AN INCONSPICUOUS AREA FIRST SURFACE PREPARATION:

Surface must be free from dirt, dust and grease. Protect areas not to be sprayed. SPRAYING: Hold can about 3-5 inches from surface to be sprayed. While spraying keep can in motion. Two thin applications are better than one heavy application. Allow 5-10 minutes before applying second and additional applications. For best results temperature of can and surface should be at least 70°F. If using the spray-head extender, apply near to the edge of the surface to be debonded. Clean surface after use with denatured water or isopropyl alcohol.

How it works: Polyurethane adhesive/sealants form long interlocking chains of molecules when they come into contact with the surfaces to be bonded together. These molecule chains are what forms the bond with the surface (fiberglass, metal, wood, etc.) Marine Formula™ penetrates into the polyurethane adhesive sealant (such as 3M™ Marine 5200) and, through a chemical process, begins the process of breaking the interlocking molecule chains. When the chains are broken, the adhesive loses its sticking power. Accordingly, we offer the following advice in using this product:

Marine Formula™ needs to make contact with the polyurethane, so when applying make sure to apply to the correct area. Also, a putty knife or wedge can be used to help Marine Formula™ get access to the polyurethane.

Allow Marine Formula™ enough time to work. The longer the polyurethane is exposed to Marine Formula™ the more molecule chains will be broken down.
Be sure to remove any dirt or wax that might separate Marine Formula™ from the polyurethane.

Avoid allowing Marine Formula™ to drip onto other areas as it will debond any polyurethane it contacts. Denatured alcohol will stop the chemical process.

When the object begins to loosen, begin at an edge or corner to peel the object away from the remaining polyurethane.

DO NOT use Marine Formula™ on plastics! Plastics are constructed with long chains of molecules that are similar to those in polyurethane adhesives and sealants. It is possible that Marine Formula™ will break down the structure of plastics.

WARNING!

FLAMMABLE—Keep from heat or flame. CONTENTS UNDER PRESSURE DO NOT PUNCTURE, INCINERATE OR STORE ABOVE 120°F. EXPOSURE TO SUNLIGHT MAY CAUSE BURSTING. Protect surrounding objects from overspray. SPRAY IN WELL VENTILATED AREA. Avoid breathing of vapor or prolonged contact with skin.

KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN FIRST AID IF SWALLOWED.

Do not induce vomiting, call poison control, hospital emergency room or your physician immediately. IN CASE OF EYE CONTACT, immediately flush with water for at least 15 minutes. If irritation persists, get medical attention. FOR SKIN CONTACT, wash with soap and water. If irritation persists, get medical attention.
